Kit (health senior staff worker) asked four health students about what are they most excited for this coming year and can they share a memorable moment that happened at Ancon last year (if they are in second years and above).

Meet Amanda (second year, studying physiotherapy)
I am so excited to get to spend time with people and to build new friendships along the way! Along with having fun with friends, I’m keen to learn about this year’s theme and how the Bible talks can help me grow in faith. This year at ANCON I will be helping as a prayer and reflection group leader. I am a little nervous as this is my first time, but I am looking forward to being able to share God’s love through meaningful reflections and to meet the new first years!
Last year, a few of my friends and I had just come out of the last evening main session. We were feeling quite tired but really wanted to stay up since it would be our last night together. We were wondering what we should do when we walked into a little worship jam session happening by the CON faculty. I remember it being a night filled with lots of good music and worship – a memorable way to finish the last day of ANCON!

Meet Nara (second year, studying pharmacy)
I’m really excited to get to meet new people, and be able to talk about the Bible and have good chats, as well as getting to spend time with my friends and be able to get closer to them. I am really keen to get to know the first years and hopefully make them feel more comfortable being in the EU!
A few friends and I played mafia for 3 hours until 4 am in the morning. We thought we were gonna stay up playing mafia for the rest of the night, but we all ended up falling asleep not long later. We were all sleep deprived on the next day.

Meet Tien (first year, studying physiotherapy)
I’ve heard that AnCon is one of the best moments in EU. All of the uni students in older years have said it’s been such a fun time and really challenge your understanding of the Bible. I’m expecting that a lot of my preconceived ideas of the Bible and how I view it may be changed from what I will learn.
I’m most excited to learn about the Bible on a deeper level but also make lots of friends with my Christian brothers and sister

Meet Sam (second year, studying nursing)
I’m actually really excited to dig into the cross and get a big Bible picture of the crucifixion. Hopefully that’ll just fill me with heaps of awe for God. Also really keen for the touch footy (the health faculty won touch footy in 2022 and 2023).
I have particularly good memories of dancing to Freed from Desire and Michael Jackson at the three sisters late on Thursday night.
