Before Covid-19 halted all face-to-face ministry, God was already granting new life on campus!
Three international students from China have decided to follow Jesus in the first few weeks of semester. God has been giving us courage and motivation to share boldly and He has been blessing us in doing so.
Here is one story, let’s call her Melanie.
Melanie’s Christian classmate Betty brought her along to our weekly meeting on a Thursday night, called Come Home Dinner. The talk was about how we can be God’s beloved children. After the talk there were discussion questions and Betty shared how she became a Christian four years ago through an Alpha course in China. Melanie wondered if there are lots of rules to follow to become a Christian, so I shared with her a basic gospel presentation called Three Circles (with my children Lydia and Chloe climbing all over me!) It shows how the heart of sin is not treating our loving Father as we should – respecting, listening to and thanking Him. With some translation from Betty, Melanie said she wanted to turn back to God and listen to Jesus. She prayed to receive Jesus!
Even though the situation may not have been ideal from my point of view (my kids crawling all over me), it was ideal for God. God is teaching me to always be ready, as you never know when someone else is ready. Betty is now being trained to disciple Melanie and help her also share the good news with her friends. Please pray for obedience to Jesus, growth and joy for Melanie and wisdom and patience for Betty.
