God willing, in five years the EU will mark its centenary! In heading towards this milestone, the EU has set itself a ‘Big Kingdom’ vision with four components:

• Big Kingdom Prayers – to create a culture of devoted prayer for revival;
• Big Kingdom Proclamation – to grow as a multilingual and multicultural ministry;
• Big Kingdom Discipleship – to embrace voluntary sacrifice and extraordinary generosity for God’s kingdom;
• Big Kingdom Decisions – to live out a robust theology of work and ministry, considering gospel needs around the world.

This is an exciting and challenging vision, developed through prayerful reflection amongst students and staff. Pursuing this together over the next five years will mean change, risk and challenge. Could you please consider partnering with us in this Big Kingdom vision in two ways?

First, join us in praying that God might grow his kingdom in these ways through our partnership together at Sydney Uni. Second, would you consider increasing your financial support of the ministry on campus? Our hope is to expand the EU Staff team with more Senior Staff who will help drive forward this vision. You can support this endeavour by giving generously to the EUGF’s ‘Ministry Support Fund’ (formerly known as the ‘General’ Fund). The Ministry Support Fund subsidises new Senior Staff as they build a personal financial support base. It also provides the critical support for the office, administrative and training expenses for the EU staff team as a whole (for both Senior Staff and Howie ministry trainees).

Over the last few years, the Ministry Support/General Fund has not kept pace with increasing costs and a growing Senior Staff team. We are devoting significant effort this year to grow the Ministry Support Fund in order to strengthen our financial foundation for the Big Kingdom vision. We estimate that we need to grow the Ministry Support Fund by approximately $185,000 p.a. over current levels. Please consider how you might be generous towards the Ministry Support Fund over the next five years. Jenny and I have re-examined our financial support and have increased our giving to the Ministry Support Fund. Maybe you could do likewise as we work together for his kingdom?
