Praise God for AnCon this year! Below some students have reflected on the teaching, fellowship and sharing the Gospel that happened across the week.
Thank you for partnering with us in prayer during AnCon and for all who ventured up the mountain for Supporters Night, it was so encouraging to have you join us! Please continue to pray for the EU as we process, respond and mobilise into semester two.

AnCon was a great week of fellowship, encouragement, and growth. It was awesome to study eschatology, learning about God’s plan for the end, and the hope that we have. Spending a week learning about this topic and how it affects our lives was truly amazing.
One of the most valuable aspects of AnCon this year was the community. Although we experience a sample of this community regularly in the EU, nothing comes close to AnCon, where we can experience it in full by spending one whole week learning, worshipping and sharing fellowship with hundreds of other people unified in Christ. Having everyone in the EU all come together was so encouraging, as it reminded me that the Christian life is not one that is lived alone, but rather in Christ we are welcomed into a family of believers all serving the same God, striving towards the same end.
The community that God has made me a part of through AnCon is one that I will cherish into eternity. Please continue praying for the EU, that God would be working through this ministry to raise up disciples, and that we would be representatives of God on campus, showing people his love, and sharing his gospel.

Before AnCon this year, I had mostly tried to steer clear of discussions about the judgement and Jesus’ second coming because frankly, those topics seemed too overwhelming and scary. However, Rowan’s talks encouraged me to consider how God’s judgement is a relief for those who desire justice and that judgement is a reminder of His mercy.
It was so amazing the way to see fellow Christians motivated to act in light of the talks by coming up with ideas for some grassroots gospel initiatives. It has been particularly great seeing how after AnCon, the Arts and Social Work group chat has been lit up with people sharing their plans to invite their friends to Public Meetings and other gospel-centred events!
Praise God also for the way He has encouraged so many first years in the Arts and Social Work faculty to be part of the EU; please pray that God willing, we might continue to grow in maturity and numbers. Please also pray for upcoming Mission Weeks in weeks 4 and 5 – may many on campus come to know of the Gospel during this week.

Jesus is returning. Do you see him coming?! This year at AnCon I was convicted of my short-sightedness and of just how easily I slip in to the sin of being comfortable instead of being bold for the Kingdom of God. There was a talk on God’s righteous judgement and a right fear for our friends who are not hid in Christ. I was overcome with both fear and love for those God has placed in my life at Uni and, only having 8 weeks left on campus, I prayed for abundant opportunities, wisdom, and boldness to share the good news of Jesus Christ.
I was saddened by my shame of the Gospel in the 5 years I’ve been at uni, but I also recognise that in those 5 years God was providing training, knowledge, and strength through the EU and relationships within it. Pray that those in the EU will seize training opportunities and that those about to leave will boldly proclaim the gospel of Christ and have a greater fear for their friends than of them.
