President’s Welcome 2020

by EU Graduates Fund

Dearest brothers and sisters,

Thank you for your ongoing partnership with campus ministry over so many years. Under God, your prayer, time, and financial giving continues to be ministry-enabling and eternally-impacting. Your partnership remains remains a critical part of the EU’s function, growth and development, as students continue to be equipped and trained from God’s Word for a lifetime of Christian ministry.

This year, the EU is celebrating 90 years of proclaiming “Jesus is Lord” on campus. To celebrate and recognise the EU’s rich history of prayer, proclamation and mission on campus, of which many of you have been a part (either directly or indirectly), the EU is devoting its entire year and resources to evangelism (coined the “Year of Evangelism”).

The Year of Evangelism will train students to be bold in sharing the good news of Jesus with the University of Sydney through creating gospel opportunities. It will also involve you as supporters and graduates. This year will bring plenty of opportunities for gospel proclamation and we hope that you will also take the bold step to evangelise in your own lives and workplaces. God has been good to us in the EU and has powerfully been using students and graduates for his glory for 90 years. We prayerfully expect that this will continue.

As the Year of Evangelism is beyond the scale of anything the EU has attempted before, we know that we need lots of prayerful dependence upon God. Please join us in praying for spiritual revival in our lives and the lives of the spiritually lost on campus. Please pray also for the many moving pieces that will go into making this year work – evangelistic public bible talks, small group bible studies, specific evangelistic ministries, faculty-based gospel opportunities, Mark Dramas, our Annual conference, and more – pray that each would enable the EU to wade deeply into the rich joy captured in the gospel of Christ and proclaim it boldly in speech and deed.

Yours in Him,

Jacob Madden
EU President
