Preparing for the Flood

by Owen Robson

It is with great joy that another year of EU ministry begins, and with it comes excitement and anticipation for what God might do on campus this year. The students and staff together have been preparing for the year ahead: setting goals, making plans, but most importantly praying for all students as they begin the year. We pray that this year, the EU might boldly proclaim that Jesus is Lord to all on campus, as we seek to present students with the gospel and to grow and nurture their faith as they love and serve him.

Throughout the year, the EU seeks to be a welcoming community, and at the beginning of each year, our focus is to welcome new students to campus. The EU staff team has been working in partnership with students in the EU, equipping and encouraging them to be welcoming as we have been welcomed by Christ. Orientation week (O Week) is a great opportunity for us to engage and welcome new students through our Welcoming Project – a focused effort that seeks to make the EU visible on campus and connect new and returning students into the EU community. Throughout O Week, the EU will have stalls where students are able to hear more about the EU, meet EU students and staff, and grab some free food. Our prayer is that during O Week, there might be many opportunities to welcome believers and non-believers alike into the EU.

Throughout the many ministries and programs this year in the EU, we ask that you pray with us as we seek to be a loving and welcoming community on campus, where all can know the love of God through the Lord Jesus Christ.
