Meet the New EU GradsFund Staff

by EU GradsFund

We are so thankful that in 2022, God has provided us with one new senior staff member and eight new Howies. Praise God with us for raising up these Christian leaders to serve him on campus and work in the harvest field of Sydney Uni! Read on to learn a bit about each of our new staff members and trainees.

Kit Ng: Senior Staff – Health Faculty & E-Team

Why did you decide to join the EU GradsFund?
I became a Christian in my first year at Sydney Uni, so I love EU GradsFund, which enables students to know the Lord Jesus and have personal faith in our Saviour.

How could EU GradsFund supporters pray for you this year?
Pray that I will ask good questions, listen well and be patient with myself as I adjust to working on a larger campus with more systems and staff.

Andrew Le Marne: Howie – Business & Law Faculties

Why did you decide to join the EU GradsFund?
I’ve seen generations of EUers come out of Sydney Uni as fantastic mature christian leaders, both in a lay capacity and some… in full-time pastoral ministry. The EU seems to be this ‘mature christian factory’ around Sydney and consistently accomplishes the GradsFund’s vision to flood God’s church.

How could EU GradsFund supporters pray for you this year?
I’m hoping that God will grow me in my competencies as a minister of the gospel and will prepare, train and test me (God- willing) for a lifetime of Christian ministry.

Felicity Kerr: Howie – EPS & Education Faculties

What are you most looking forward to about working with the EU?
I’m excited to see how God continues to work for his people, even when we feel especially out of control…. and to grow my trust in him when I feel weak or uncertain.

What are you hoping to learn through your time with the EU?
I know that God works so powerfully in us when we are most dependent on him, and I’d love to learn how to depend less on myself and my own abilities, and more on God’s sovereignty and good plan.

Henry Li: Howie – Health Faculty

What are you most looking forward to about working with the EU?
The uni season is such a formative part of a person’s life and I’m excited to see students making decisions that are shaped by a gospel lens with Jesus at the centre of it.

What are you hoping to learn through your time with the EU?
At the end of the two years, I hope that I’ll have grown in my character, be equipped with ministry skills that will last a lifetime and have a clearer picture of whether full time ministry is the right place for me.

Phoebe Barnes: Howie – Health Faculty

What are you hoping to learn through your time with the EU?
I’d love to learn how to put my identity in God more, and be less worried by what people think. I’d love to grow in pastoral skills, in pointing people to Jesus through his word.

How could EU GradsFund supporters pray for you this year?
Pray for joy and contentment as I trust that God is big and good. There are so many unknowns in life, and things that I can’t control or can’t do well, and it is so easy for me to focus on these instead of God’s awesomeness!

Rohan Smith: Howie – Engineering & Design Faculty

What are you most looking forward to about working with the EU?
I was so impacted by my Howies as a student, so I’m looking forward to, God-willing, having a similar impact on the students I minister to in these two years and helping them mature in their faith as they are equipped with skills to serve Jesus for the rest of their lives.

How could EU GradsFund supporters pray for you this year?
Pray for my character in ministry; humility, rest, prayerfulness and godliness as I seek to do full time ministry long term.

Sarah Chaudhary: Howie – The Con & ACES Faculty

Why did you decide to join the EU GradsFund?
One day, my husband and I would love to serve God overseas – and joining the EUGrads Fund is a big step in being trained up in the skills and experience that will be helpful when, God willing, we go!

What are you most looking forward to about working with the EU?
I’m really looking forward to walking alongside university students as they learn more about God and grow in their faith, and seeing the fruit that God bears in their lives.

Sylvia Wong: Howie – Arts & Social Work Faculty

What are you most looking forward to about working with the EU?
I am looking forward to learning from a staff team that oozes a love for Jesus, thoughtfulness in growing in godliness and that has a wealth of ministry experience to pass on. I’m also looking forward to being challenged and grown in ministry skills that will enable me to train and disciple students in their love and service of Jesus for now and in the future.

What are you hoping to learn through your time with the EU?
I hope to grow in my love of God’s Word, to treasure it deeply and to be obedient to it.

Trish Booth: Howie – Science Faculty & CousMin

Why did you decide to join the EU GradsFund?
My time in the EU as a uni student was very formative for my faith. The EU played a key role in shaping how I made life decisions that would serve and honour Jesus in the long run (a big yes to less-reached and less-resourced value!).

How could EU GradsFund supporters pray for you this year?
I would love for you to pray that I will be a leader that lives out the humility of Christ and that I will be an active listener.
