We’ve been praying for revival on campus. Was there a movement at Meet Jesus?
Heading towards our Big Kingdom Vision of the EU in its centenary in 2030, we’ve been growing in our commitment to praying for revival at Sydney University this year. In particular, we prayed for revival at Meet Jesus. Meet Jesus was our heightened season of evangelism in Weeks 4 and 5 of Semester 2, with special Public Meetings, free lunches, and every Small Group doing walk-up. We prayed for a gracious movement of God, by His Word and Spirit, amongst thousands, or even – we do believe; help us overcome our unbelief – tens of thousands. Such is the sheer number of lost on our campus.
Did God answer our prayers for revival? Apparently not. God has not swept Sydney University with a wave that has softened hundreds of hearts of flesh and led them to follow Jesus as Lord. However, God has certainly, faithfully and graciously answered our prayers.

We held six Meet Jesus Public Meetings. We counted a total attendance of 1,007 people. 735 (73%) responded to our Google Form. 47 (6%) of those were international students. 99 (13%) of those were not EUers. 14 (2%) would like to chat further with an EUer. 53 (7%) would like to read the Bible with someone. And 17 (2%) would like to become a Christian!
Praise God! These are precious answers to our prayers. Each of these numbers represents students who may be found. Please pray with us as staff and students follow up. Please pray that all these seeds fall on good soil.

What about in the hearts of Christians? Was there a reviving movement of God? Maybe not. Hundreds of EUers boldly and unashamedly promoted the gospel, though. Hundreds of EUers prayed, chalked, flyered, engaged in walk-up evangelism in their Small Groups, and invited their classmates and friends to the special Public Meetings. For many first-years, this was their first taste of walk-up. Hundreds of EUers served to make the Public Meetings happen. Is God starting to stir His people on His campus?

These numbers have encouraged us to keep asking for revival.
So, please join us in thanking God for the hundreds of EUers who promoted the gospel and the 99 plus non-EUers who came to our six special Public Meetings.
Please pray with us for the 14 who would like to chat further, 53 would would like to read the Bible, and 17 who want to become Christians. Please pray that they would all repent and believe.
Please keep asking God for a revival. We’ll keep planting, watering, and praying faithfully. If it is God’s will, He will grow.
