The EU has a rich history of public evangelism. From its heyday in the 1950s right through to year-on-year evangelistic efforts, the EU has always been on about seeking to lead students to a personal faith in the Lord Jesus.

The EU has once again committed itself to two weeks of public evangelism. As we did in 2025, the EU will hold 2 weeks of public evangelistic meetings under the banner of Meet Jesus. Our EU Public Meetings Team has spent the last few months planning and preparing. We have been praying for our non-Christian friends. We launched our mission at AnCon and encouraged EUers to be bold in inviting their friends to come and meet Jesus.

And now mission weeks are upon us. We have had various student teams flyering, chalking, and undertaking walk-up. We have students serving in the welcoming and lunch teams. We have a good number coming to our morning prayer meetings. The EU is mobilising for the mission in these weeks!

This last week, we heard talks from Richard Chin on Finding Life, from Paddy Benn on Finding Love and from Jerri Jones-Sparks on Finding Fulfilment. In Week 4, we have had many come and visit us for the first time – the Lord has been answering the prayers of many. There is a genuine interest from many USYD students to come and hear the claims of Jesus.

In Week 5, we will have similar public talks: Finding Glory (Richard), Finding Faith (Paddy and Finding Joy (Jerri). Please pray that our speakers will speak clearly and faithfully from the Bible and that all who attend will be challenged to consider the claim of Jesus. Please pray for our EU students – that they will be bold in their invitations, and keen in their follow-up with their friends who attend. Most of all, please pray that the Lord would do His work and call people out of the kingdom of darkness and into the kingdom of His Son. Thank you for your support.
