Interested in being sent to reach the lost?

by EU GradsFund

On 12–14 September, the EU will host its annual ministry conference, Project200. Each year, excitement builds as the joy of gathering at AnCon flows into prayer and preparation for mission outreach in weeks four and five. That anticipation certainly carries into Project200. For some, it also marks some of their final weeks on campus as university students. Like many, they are struck by how quickly this season of their lives seems to be slipping away.

Looking back, I (Henry) am deeply grateful for God’s kindness in providing so many opportunities to sit under His Word – especially through conferences like AnCon, Next Steps, and Project200. God’s Word is powerful… Time spent in God’s Word is powerful. Scripture promises that time in the Word shapes and equips us: the Psalmist writes that the blessed man meditates on the law of the LORD day and night and becomes like a fruitful tree (Ps 1:1–3). Paul reminds us that all Scripture teaches, rebukes, corrects, and trains us in righteousness so we may be complete and equipped for every good work (2 Tim 3:16). Life is distracting, and if I’m honest with myself, I’m quick to forget gospel needs, Jesus’ command to pray for more workers, and the joy of surrendering my personal plans and desires to be used by God. I need reminding that Jesus says, “Surely I am coming soon” (Rev 22:20).

The preciousness of Project200 is simple: it’s time in God’s Word. For EU students and graduates to grasp the gospel and be transformed into joyful, sacrificial servants of Christ, we need that time. The EU has committed itself to teaching God’s Word – setting the agenda so we might be conformed to Christ and build up His church.

This year, we have expanded our Graduate strand. We are commencing on the Friday afternoon! We will hear from the Scriptures about how to persevere in living as a Christian in the workplace. Spend time talking with peers about the challenges of keeping ministry decisions on our agenda, and be reminded of the call to see the LRLR parts of the world won for Jesus.

If you were keen as a student to see the gospel go to the ends of the earth but have become wearied by the troubles of the world, and the deceitfulness of wealth, then you should come and join us at Project200. Come and be encouraged by the Scriptures and the encouragement of others. Come and pray that the Lord might raise more global harvest workers. Come and consider if you could be sent as a faithful minister of the word to reach the lost.
