EUstreet is back! Evangelism on campus in 2022

by EU GradsFund

We are on campus! Woohoo! Part of the joy of being back in-person is that it makes it easier to meet strangers on campus. EUers have been on the streets of USyd talking to students about Jesus since week 3. The E-team has allocated three different hours during the week to go do walk-up evangelism (also known as EUstreet). Despite the rain and the craziness of the first semester, we have been able to go and meet new people each week.

I have asked three students to share their experience of EUstreet based on these three questions: What has your experience been like this semester? Are there any stories of people you would like to share? And how can we be praying for you as you do euStreet?

Liana – 3rd year Arts student
“It has been so good. So many students are open to talking about faith, even if it’s just briefly! Last week I spoke to 2 students for almost an hour. They considered our questions so seriously and had the most thoughtful answers. Eden (the EUer I was with) and I really felt like God had led us there! Pray that EUers would be overflowing with love and passion for Jesus, and to be naturally sharing Jesus with everyone they meet at uni. Also pray that God would lead us to the soft-hearted.”

Liam – 5th year Education student
“My experience with EUstreet this year has been so encouraging! I love how many EU’ers are trying out walk up each week. It’s been awesome being able to have gospel conversations with students all around campus. It’s helped me be able to articulate and explain the gospel better and really helps me think deeper about my own beliefs.

Jasper and myself had an amazing conversation with a Muslim women studing education. She was very keen to to explain what Ramadan was and meant to her, but was also so receptive to hear about Jesus from us. What a wonderful conversation.

Please pray for more opportunities to share our faith with more Muslim students during this season.”

Betsy – 3rd year Health student
“Being part of euStreet, for the first time, has highlighted the value of talking to strangers on campus about Jesus. I have not only had the joy of sharing about the person and work of Jesus Christ but I have also been challenged in many ways to reflect on my own walk with God. The first few times I had the opportunity to observe and learn from more experienced EUers (which I very much appreciated) and then I was able to start some conversations with people. I am still very new to it so I would appreciate prayer for engaging people in conversations centred around Jesus and speaking the truth uncompromisingly.”
