EU Winter School

by EU Graduates Fund

Despite the challenges of COVID-19, there have also been new ministry opportunities.

Late in Semester 1 it was announced that commencement of Semester 2 would be delayed three weeks. This has created an unprecedentedly long break between semesters: a total of 12 weeks from exams to the beginning of Semester 2!

The EU has seized this opportunity to run an EU Winter program. Rather than the holidays being a time of spiritual laziness, we labour that they may be a time of spiritual re-energisation.

‘Winter in the EU’ has three main elements:

  1. Ministry electives: In recent weeks EU teachers have been running ministry electives over Zoom to help students dig deep into the Bible and theology. There have been a vast range of electives: from daily study in the book of Ephesians; to book clubs on prayer and evangelism; to helping students develop a kingdom-minded 5 year plan.
  2. AnCon: The centrepiece of the EU’s holiday program is its annual conference, AnCon, which will be running online, 27-30 July. The theme of AnCon is God’s Unshakeable Kingdom, which in 2020 seems a more pertinent truth than ever! Read More about how AnCon has been re-imagined and how you can join in from home

  3. Winter School: Following AnCon, the EU is running its own Winter School, which comprises Equip training courses run as intensives over the remaining weeks of the holidays. This will be a wonderful opportunity for students to be equipped before Semester 2 re-commences in August.

Despite the challenges of this year, our goal remains the same: ‘admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ’ (Colossians 1:28).

Please join us in praying to this end.
