At AnCon this year, many students were challenged to ask a life-shaping question: Could God be calling me to serve as a gospel worker in his global harvest field? It was also a great encouragement to see so many recent graduates at Supporters’ Night, rejoicing together in God’s faithfulness.
We also heard about the launch of the ‘40 for 2030’ vision as part of the EU’s Big Kingdom Vision for our centenary in 2030. Our prayer is to see God raise up 40 Howies—men and women committed to long-term gospel ministry—by 2030. Could you be one of them?
From 18–20 September, the EU will gather for Project200, our annual ministry recruitment conference. Following AnCon, many students have been prayerfully considering the Send Me pledge to pursue gospel ministry. We expect Project200 to be a weekend filled with Bible teaching, prayer and thoughtful reflection on God’s mission, and we’d love you to join us.
In particular, we’d love to invite you to the Friday afternoon Graduates Strand (starting at 3pm). Together we’ll hear from God’s word, encourage one another to be a light for Christ in our workplaces, and reflect on the opportunities and challenges of both faithful workplace witness and vocational gospel ministry.
One of the great strengths of the EU has always been its vision for the harvest and its commitment to raising up gospel workers. Yet once university is behind us, the demands of work, family, local church and everyday life can easily crowd out that vision. Project200 is an opportunity to lift our eyes again to Christ’s mission, be encouraged by Scripture, reconnect with fellow graduates, and ask afresh how God would have us serve his kingdom.
